Nithyananda Purnima Brahmotsavam | Day 1 | Dhvajarohanam

When the young Supreme Pontiff was 12 years of age, in the evening of the Poornima Tithi in the Tamil month of Vaikasi, He was sitting on a rock, casually contemplating at the source of His thoughts – a technique of self-enquiry He was initiated into by Sri Annamalai Swamigal, a close disciple of the great incarnation Sri Ramana Maharshi. On that evening, while practicing this method, seated at the foothills of the sacred Arunachala, the young Supreme Pontiff had a superconscious breakthrough when he suddenly something broke in His ananda gandha and He experienced total 360-degree vision. Not just seeing, He was able to literally feel that the whole 360 degree is Him. Just like we feel we are alive in our skin, He was able to feel He is alive in everything around Him.  The Supreme Pontiff describes that experience as “Pure solid gold flowing through My spine, that was cool.” After some time, He slowly walked down to the house of His Guru Mataji Vibhutananda Puri and asked Her whether He was caught by a ghost. She immediately replied, “No, you are caught by God.”

At 3 years of age, the Supreme Pontiff developed a deep feeling connection with a Ganesha deity gifted by His father. When he heard the story of a saint, Nambiyandar Nambi feeding Ganesha and Ganesha actually eating the offered food, it immediately clicked with Him and He started feeding His own Ganesha deity. Initially, he started from a state of kutarka, trying to force Ganesha to eat the food, even threatening to throw Him into the well. When nothing happened, kutarka shifted to tarka, and the young Supreme Pontiff tried to feed the naivedyam that was offered to Ganesha deity in Arunachaleshwara temple, thinking maybe Ganesha likes that food and would eat the same from His hand also. Even this method failed. This is when both kutarka and tarka broke and gave way to vitarka when the Supreme Pontiff realized that Nambiyandar Nambi didn’t torture Ganesha, but himself. It is then that the Supreme Pontiff decided that till Ganesha eats, He would not eat anything. With an extremely strong will, even as a child, He sat continuously for 2 and a half days, without food and sleep. In the end, He fell into an altered state of consciousness, where He clearly saw Ganesha coming and eating the food He had offered. It was an example of a strong experience strengthening the belief and devotion. Faith getting transformed into trust. That feeling connection gave Him tremendous courage and confidence to begin His spiritual journey. Curiosity can make you start, but it is only feeling connection that gives you the endurance to go through the journey.

Today, here in Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Devalayam, at Adi Kailasa Nithyananda Sarvajnapeetham, the Utsava Vigraha of the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam graces us in the Leela Alankaram of Him feeding Maha Ganapathi as a child, as we also celebrate the presence of Ganapathya Sampradaya in the enlightenment ecosystem where the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam grew up and was molded by His gurus, and also the revival of this ancient sampradaya of Sanatana Hindu Dharma. All the rituals and homas performed here in Adi Kailasa Nithyananda Sarvajnapeetham are micromanaged and officiated by the Supreme Pontiff Himself, and performed by His 3rd-eye awakened disciples strictly as per Vedas and Agamas, the source scriptures of Sanatana Hindu Dharma.

Let us now offer our sincere devotion and worship to Sri Bhagavan Mahaganapati and at the feet of our beloved Bhagavan, the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam, on the first day celebration of Nithyananda Purnima Brahmotsavam, and seek His grace and blessings.
